As always, your frankness is appreciated.

As I've come to learn, coming up with a wild bunch of hootananny ideas is certainly easy--but logically thinking through PAST the brainstorming stage, the "What ifs", and formulating solutions and possible pratfalls (and pitfalls) is considerably harder. It's also easy to make complaints without seeing the other side of the bridge. Perhaps a test of seeing who'll follow through is when you go, "WHO'S WITH ME???" and charge, all Spartacus-like. Hey, if it works for foot shadows... ;)

ANYHOO--

What grabbed me most here was the end. Perhaps because I was surprised at the simplicity. I haven't spent much time in AW, but, the moment you said Resident Evil in regards to "scene cameras", that clued me in. This has a lot of machinima--what I prefer to call SLinema inworld--uses as well. I'm known for taking a lot of epic angles to frame my shots in SL the best I can. And I have thot, "What if others could automatically see this as well?" For example:

And yes, if the cathedral was all dark and gloomy and Bub was STILL the minister, it'd work out--as Resident SLevil.

I believe Ctrl+Alt (I hardly ever use Alt by itself) and click-dragging is not as used as much as it could be. I'm in a minority in that, and I also combine it with the scrollwheel. Few have ever watched me "on" SL from behind the computer. Maybe someday. I'd love to set up custom "scenes" though. Maybe an option like much how Landing Points are today. And if you walk onto a parcel, it gradually transitions into it. Or, a button to toggle, which would leave those free who want to be.

Yeah Parcel cameras would be cool, but having it go in some kinda... room... type structure, is nicer if say, you have a house and want a different camera view for each room. A toggle would be nice. I also think Alt+Zooming would of course allow you to escape the view.

It's a shame that some people don't even realize that they CAN get awesome views with the camera by zooming all around with it. I had a hard time explaining to a friend that she could move her camera all around with the Alt tools and stuff. Then add in Ctrl+Alt+Shift and that kinda stuff and people are even more lost, heheh.

A fun thing to do also is to go to a sim edge that's on the edge of the world, zoom in on yourself, then position the camera at the sun and tap Ctrl+9 or whatever to zoom in, then the sun or the moon suddenly become HUGE.

I love that Ctrl-0 trick too. Great for romantic shots. Ctrl-8 and Ctrl-0 to zoom FOV are underutilized.
