This is pretty much the culmination of some of your earlier ideas. How much time did it take you to make this, anyhoo? It’s PRETTY. I really like the red “New”s too. Apart from the catch they look invariably scrunchy at small sizes.

That being said, do you prefer received items to get sorted into separate folders as they do today (e.g. a sound goes into the Sounds folder), or would you prefer a unified inbox? Let me know, ‘cuz this came up at the Community Roundtable meeting.

Maybe–if you had a new item in a folder, it would indicate as such too. Because I know a confusion sometimes is, “Which folder did that thing I just got go into?” I’m very used to how Gmail does the thing where it bolds the inbox or label that gets new mail and puts a number next to it. (How can I do formatted text on here?)

It took me an hour and some minutes I think. I thought about what stuff should look like awhile before actualy making them. And I agree the text looks scrunched, but I was trying to see if it would be possible to fit them on the current icons… it appears not so much. Perhaps just somehow otherwise highlighting the object icon? I dunno. The idea really is though that there should be some identifiable change to notice that its a new item.

Thats a good question… you know it’d be neat if you had like, in your main Inventory you have how we currently have it, items divided into folders (with my additions ), but then ALSO have an “Inbox” window that you could see from the Inventory, like File -> Inbox Window, which only showed new items and maybe what folders they are in. Thats a good idea too though, I was kinda thinking about that, but my idea was to have it pop up when you login… but I wasn’t sure about it.

Yeah thats what this idea is to fix, the issue of “Wait, where’d that go?”. Bolding could work too, but we have bolding for worn items and stuff.

Formatting… lets see… [b]Bold?[/b] bold?, first one uses brackets [ b ] second one uses < b >, lets see when I press Say It! which one turns out right.

The colors could be whatever. My reason for chosing system-color-green is because people are familiar with it referring to system stuff, however something more eye-catching or more contrasty could be better, something to give permissions their own color. New could be green as well, New item text too, I do think that the color should be more contrasty, the yellow I used is actualy too light and not enough of a difference from the white.

I think it’d be neat if you could choose your own colors as you can with some of the Chat text.
